Cover your head with a towel or a shower cap. In the morning use some baby oil to remove the petroleum jelly. Comb your hair thoroughly to remove the lice. Wash your hair thereafter. Neem and tulsi hair mask

Neem has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties and tulsi improves the blood circulation which keeps the scalp cool and reduces itchiness. Use 10 leaves of both neem andtulsi leaves and blend them together to make a paste. Mix this paste with some coconut oil. Add the coconut oil depending on the length of you hair. Mix the paste well and apply it on the scalp. Leave this hair mask overnight and wash it with a herbal shampoo in the morning. Use this twice a week to get rid of the head lice. Coconut oil and camphor hair mask

You can use a mix of coconut oil and camphor as the oil will smother the lice and the camphor will kill them because of the anti-parasitic properties. Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of crushed camphor and apply this paste on your scalp. Leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning. Use this hair mask about thrice a week to get rid of head lice.

Salt and vinegar

Using salt and vinegar will help to extract all the moisture in order to eradicate head lice. Mix one-quarter cup of salt and one-quarter cup of vinegar and pour it into a bottle with a spray nozzle. Gently spray the solution onto your hair, cover your head with a shower cap and leave it for about two hours. Wash and condition your hair. Repeat this every three days to get better results.

Garlic

Garlic has a really strong smell, which can suffocate the lice. Use about 10 cloves of garlic and make a paste out of it. Add lime juice to it and then apply it thoroughly all over the scalp. Leave this paste for about 30 minutes and then wash it off with hot water. Use this once a week to get rid of the lice.

Olive oil

Applying olive oil will effectively smother and kill head lice. Use olive oil generously all over your scalp, cover your head with a shower cap and then go to bed. In the morning, brush out your hair to get rid of the lice and then wash your hair with tea tree enriched herbal shampoo. Repeat this remedy post a week to get best results.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree essential oil is a natural insecticide which makes it the most effective for treating head lice. But tea tree oil should always be used after diluting it with a carrier oil. Mix one teaspoon of tea tree oil with one ounce of natural shampoo and three tablespoons of coconut oil. Apply this on your hair and cover your head with a shower cap. Post 30 minutes wash off with hot water. Comb your hair while it is still wet to remove the dead lice.
